Jacques Tuyisenge eased the pressure on Hassan Oktay as the Gor Mahia attacker scored two goals for his club to inspire them to a 4-2 demolition of Zamalek on Sunday.
The green army manager had been under fire after Gor were knocked out of the Sportpesa Super Cup.
Zamalek's Ibrahim Hassan and Gor's Tuyisenge scored two goals apiece in what was an entertaining half to make it 2-2 at the break.
Gor got off the mark again in the second half as Kipkirui scored the third on his international debut for Gor Mahia in the 51st minute after heading home Tuyisenge’s cross.
Kipkirui was later subbed off after he picked an injury in the 67th minute and was replaced by Gor's new signing Dennis Oliech to make his debut in the competition.
Oliech, who has three goals for Gor Mahia in all competitions, got off to a flyer as he netted a fourth to seal the rout.
From this impressive win, Hassan Oktay's men will now turn their attention to the premier league where they face Vihiga United away, a match will be played on February 6.
