High Court Judge Antony Ombwayo on Thursday ordered former President Daniel Moi to pay Susan Cheburet Chelugui and her son David Chelugui Sh1 billion for grabbing their land, Daily Nation reported.
Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna wants the office of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation and the office of Directorate of Public Prosecution to charge the former President with theft and as a consequence serve a jail term.
"Land-grabbing is Theft. Daniel Moi Stole land belonging to those poor peasants. The DCI_Kenya(Directorate of Criminal Investigation) and ODPP_KE(Directorate of Public Prosecution) should have charged him with theft.
Moi should not just return the land he stole and fully restitute for the theft; he should serve time in jail," reads a tweet by Miguna.
The order comes as a big setback to Daniel Moi's family after recently losing his son Jonathan Moi due to cancer.
In another tweet, Miguna bashed President Uhuru Kenya and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for drooling over retired President Moi, yet according to Miguna, they have been shouting about the land where Weston Hotel, owned by DP Ruto, is built. He termed them and their sycophants as hypocrites.
"Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga & their sycophants have been shouting about the Kenya Aviation Authority land William Ruto grabbed and built Weston Hotel on yet they are DROOLING all over Daniel Arap Moi whom the High Court has "fined" for stealing land.
