Kisii County Governor James Ongwae on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 took advantage of President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to commission various development projects at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital to beg for the national government support to boost development in the county.
The county boss urged the Head of State to consider helping the county to drill more boreholes to boost the supply of clean water for use.
"Mr. President in Kisii currently we are having a water shortage. I take this opportunity to ask for your support so that water sources can be increased across the county so that Kisii residents can get access to clean water for use," he said.
The ODM allied governor expressed his happiness after President Uhuru Kenyatta agreed to visit Kisii County.
"I'm grateful that you accepted to visit Kisii county and see by your eyes development projects the county is doing. My government will not be tired hosting you," he stated.
He appealed to local leaders to criticize the county leadership positively.
"As much as we accept criticism from rivals, it should be done in mature ways. Rivals should join hands for the sake of efficient service delivery," said Ongwae.
