Addressing mourners in Shibale, in Kakamega on Saturday, the youthful politician revealed how Ruto talked him into joining the party from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

He noted that he remains a close ally of the DP and harbours great respect for him, despite the DP having apparently failed to protect him from the sacking.

He also warned politicians and Kenyans against dragging the DP's name into the issue at a time when Ruto is yet to publicly speak on the issue.

“Get Dr Ruto out of my sacking. It is him who approached me to get out of ODM and join Jubilee. I have a lot of respect for him,” he was quoted by the Sunday Nation.

Echesa also hit out at his former boss and opposition leader Raila Odinga whom he blamed for his woes.

He claimed that the African Union Infrastructure Development Envoy is using his closeness with Uhuru to squeeze his allies into the government at the expense of others.

Echesa added that the Western Kenya region will not accept a situation where its people in government are pushed out to create room for Odinga's allies.

“Mr Odinga should be prepared because we are not going to cede an inch of our position in government.

"I am still in government because I contested the 2017 Mumias West Parliamentary seat on Jubilee Party ticket and Jubilee formed the government," added Echesa.

Uhuru has also kept his silence on the matter.
