According to the governor, Uhuru has been busy working and managing the country's affairs

"The President is a manager. He needs time to hold meetings, get briefs and manage the economy," Mutua said."

"Lately I have heard people asking why President Uhuru Kenyatta is not seen in public since he came back from China. Uhuru is not quiet but he's busy working because he has to do double work since those who should be assisting him are busy playing politics," he added.

Following his remarks, several quarters criticised him for speaking on behalf of the government, telling him to concentrate on affairs in his county.

On Monday though, his words were repeated by the State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena who said that Uhuru has been busy in the office working.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Maisha, she clarified that the president is in good health.

"I am shocked that people say that they have not seen the President since his return from China, yet on May 3, he had a meeting with executives from Global Fund and there was a statement to that effect," Dena said.

Through her Twitter handle, she told Kenyans that the President is busy working for them and that at times, it is not a must for him to be seen in public.

"Rais Uhuru Kenyatta yuko ofisini kwake na anaendelea na kazi ya kustawisha Taifa na kuinua maisha ya Wakenya. Sio lazima aonekane kila siku hadharani (President Uhuru Kenyatta is in his office continuing with his work to make Kenya better and better the lives of Kenyans. It is not a must he been seen in public everryday)," read her tweet.
