Amid reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta is about to do a mini-cabinet reshuffle that will see new faces come in in place of those who are expected to be shown exit door, this may be former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar’s time to bounce back.
Having been kept in the political cold since decamping to Jubilee in October 2017, the impending Cabinet reshuffle which may reportedly take place this week, will be Uhuru’s perfect time to ‘gift’ his big political catch.
So far, of all the high-profile 2017 poll losers from the Coast who switched their allegiance to Jubilee, only Hassan Omar is yet to land a government job despite having been promised when he took an unexpected move to decamp to the ruling party.
Suleiman Shahbal who ran against Omar in the gubernatorial race which they both lost to Hassan Joho, recently landed a state job and so is former Nominated MP Amina Abdalla who is a key Uhuru ally.
