East Africa Legislative Assembly MP Oburu Odinga has hit out at Deputy President William Ruto over his recent comment that ODM leader Raila Odinga should support him for President in 2022.
Ruto who recently spoke in Kakamega said that the former Premier should repay the political debt having supported his bid for President in 2007. However, while hitting back at the DP, Dr. Oburu said that Ruto should stop engaging in cheap politics that Raila betrayed him in 2007, yet he benefited from the deal.
"The greatest beneficiary in any course cannot claim to have helped anyone at the end but himself. Look at the last general elections; Ruto didn't help President Uhuru Kenyatta but as DP, he is beneficiary.He should not expect any returns from Uhuru in 2022," said the former Bondo MP when he addressed journalists in Bondo town on Sunday.
Dr. Oburu's comment comes at a time the DP has been firing salvos at the former Prime Minister with the duo openly clashing last week when they attended the funeral of former Minister Henry Obwocha in Nyamira County.
