A section of angry youths from Kisii County have attacked Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi for 'misbehaving' in public.
The youths led by Bernard Nyamao said Maangi's decision on Friday to attempt slapping a Jubilee politician Antony Kibagendi is uncalled for.
"Slapping Kibagendi denotes how desperate Maangi is over leadership. He has been a Deputy governor for 6 years but, unable to control the youths," said Nyamao.
Isaac Otundo claimed that Maangi is sleeping in the county.
"Politics is a brain game not idlers in taught. Maangi has reached 'menopause' in thinking because he can't convince youths to back him for Kisii County top seat in 2022," stated Otundo.
Gilbert Onsinyo argued that Maangi must know leadership start right from his home before extending it to neighbours.
"Residents will not risk electing Maangi because he thinks he has all it takes to succeed his boss Governor James Ongwae. There is no doubt, Maangi will make the worst governor if elected in 2022," said Onsinyo.
The youths have now threatened to mobilize residents to ensure Maangi doesn't make it to the ballot for the Kisii governor's seat.
"No one is going to support Maangi's gubernatorial bid. As youths we will ensure he withdraws from the race in 2022," confirmed Paul Ombati.
