In a tweet, Miguna said that the senior retirees do not deserve a pension. He said Kenya has important projects to implement and payment of retirees is not one of them.

He said that they should be paid on a monthly basis and not a lump sum as the leaders have been gunning for.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Speaker Kenneth Marende Kenneth are among those set to benefit from the pension scheme if it sails through.

“I oppose the payment of billions of shillings of tax-payers' money as PENSION for @RailaOdinga, @skmusyoka, @WMutunga, and Marende. Pensions should be paid monthly for retirees for the balance of their lives. Not lump-sum payments. And certainly not for those who have not retired,” he tweeted.

He also said that Raila and Kalonzo have already been given other jobs in the government.

He insisted that paying these leaders pension in a lump sum is bad for the economic growth of the country. He challenged the government to concentrate on projects that will benefit the taxpayers and not issues such as pension.

"Both @RailaOdinga and @skmusyoka have been appointed to meaningless sinecures by Tyrant Uhuru Kenyatta in exchange for betraying their supporters whom Uhuru Kenyatta had murdered. They have not retired and shouldn't be paid billions when Kenyans starve," he added.
