Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and other leaders in commemorating the 41st anniversary of first President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
The second in command celebrated the live of the founding father of the nation by describing him as a true champion. He described him with three words Harambee, Uhuru na Kazi.
He noted that the legacy of the late commander in chief of the armed forces will live forever. Ruto, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for Presidency come 2022, urged Kenyans to remain united in the fight to make Kenya a better place.“
Uhuru na kazi philosophy is the foundation the 3 Presidents have anchored the Big Four agenda. Today as we remember Mzee it should inspire us to work together behind President Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said as he welcomed Uhuru to make his remarks, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
On his part, Uhuru thanked Former President Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki for commemorating the life of the Kenyatta.
He also abolished Kenyatta’s anniversaries. The Head of State said that the decision had been reached after consulting with close family members. He further leaders to remain united in developing the nation before the end of his tenure.
