Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports ground, the CS urged members of the public to turn out in large numbers and register, in order to get special number dubbed Huduma Namba.

“The time has come for all of us to ensure that services are delivered in a proper manner. There’s only one number that will help you receive government services, and that is Huduma Number.

Over five million Kenyans have already been registered. We are sure that if we go forward like this, all Kenyans will get the Huduma Number,” CS Matiang'i said.

Matiang’i’s visit comes a few days before President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy Willaim Ruto and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga visits the Lakeside County.

The three leaders are expected in Kisumu next week, during this year’s edition of the Legislative Summit, which brings together Senators and Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs).

Last week, Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o confirmed through his social media pages that the three leaders will be in Kisumu during the summit.

“The president is expected to open the summit on Tuesday 16th; the PM H.E Raila Odinga will offer his speech on Wednesday 17th and the Deputy President William Ruto to close it on Thursday 18th, April 2019. Karibu Kisumu,” said Anyang' Nyong'o.

The summit is slated for April 14 to April 18 at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel. It will be the fourth edition.
