An elected Member of Parliament eyeing the Kisii Governorship seat in 2022 has confirmed his readiness to take over from Governor James Ongwae.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka on Sunday speaking in Kisii town said he has no doubt of winning the county’s top seat.
He said he has fully prepared to take opponents head-on.
“I’m confirming my readiness for the county’s top seat in 2022. Opponents will get a run for their monies,” he noted.
The MP who decamped from ODM party to Ford Kenya Party during the 2017 polls reiterated that Kisii residents should not elect the next governor because of the political outfit one is vying on.
Onyonka said he stands better chances of winning the seat due to his track record in the constituency.
“My ambition is to transform the lives of the people of Kisii county having worked well for my constituents. Residents should throw weight behind me,” he added.
The MP assured that he will serve Kisii residents without any discrimination should he be elected the next governor adding that he will work with competent people towards the realization of development in the county.
