Kisii County Women Representative Janet Ong'era has fired warning shots to lazy women in the county.
The vocal lawmaker said women who are lazy should not be allowed to eat.
"Women must be strong pillars in the family. Lazy women who don't bring food to the table should not be allowed to eat food which men have worked hard for," she said.
The ODM allied MP challenged women to consider forming and joining various self-help groups so that they can benefit from government loans to start small businesses to boost their livelihoods.
"Women with intentions to benefit from the Affirmative Action Funds must join existing groups or form new groups. As I promised during my campaigns, I am committed to ensuring the lives of women and youths are improved thrown empowerment," she noted.
Ms. Ong'era urged members of the public to ignore her opponents who are attacking her unnecessary.
"My opponents are desperately suffering in the political cold only interested in divisive, hatred and misleading politics. Residents should give deaf ears to idlers who are calling themselves politicians," added the MP.
