An elected MP from Gusii region has reacted after Deputy President William Ruto's big win following the resignation of Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe.
Richard Tong'i, a close ally to DP Ruto said Murathe's resignation from his position is a major win for DP Ruto's presidential bid in 2022.
"Murathe's resignation is a big win to DP Ruto. It is good time for DP Ruto to be more focused to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022," he noted.
The Nyaribari Chache MP reiterated that people like Murathe within the Jubilee Party must resign before being pushed around.
He said Murathe was being used by some cartels to halt DP Ruto presidential bid in 2022.
"The cartels who have been using Murathe to demand DP Ruto's retirement in 2022 abandoned him leading to his resignation. Let him continue making noise outside," he stated.
The Jubilee lawmaker said not even the court will succeed in stopping DP Ruto from vying for Presidency.
"Ruto's opponents should prepare for a though race in 2022. It is evident that DP Ruto has sent rivals into panick," said Tong'i.
