Kajwang' opined that the opposition is still playing its role of checking on the excesses of the government.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Kajwang said that although there were several promises that the Jubilee administration made to the electorate in the run-up to 2017 general elections, some of them have not been fully delivered or have not been delivered at all.

He gave an example of the laptops project saying; " The laptops project was one of the most memorable promises of Jubilee government's campaign. If you see what is happening in Nyayo stadium, then you realise that this country has one stadium that is like Kasarani. Jubilee, therefore, sold us a lot of air then."

Mr.Kajwang proceeded to observe that due to handshake and progressive deals made by Uhuru and Raila are now taking a different approach in oversight of the government of the day.

He said that they are offering friendly and constructive feedback for it to improve on governance.

The Senator further observed that the opposition had realized the government's laxities and for that reason, they decided to give them an enabling environment to deliver on their promises through the handshake.

"The government can now correct their mistakes," said Kajwang.
