The Kenya Union of Teachers (KNUT) Malindi-Magarini branch Secretary Fredrick Nguma said teachers are bound to the rules of the union, thus no teacher will report to work untill the union directs otherwise.

He added, “the government has a lot of money, they just don’t see the importance of supporting teachers. No wonder the results are always deteriorating.”

Mr. Nguma said that the frequent fights between teachers and the government is because of TSC’s failure to consider teachers age and health when it comes to delocalisation of the teachers.

“We feel the Secretary-General Wilson Sossion announced this move very late. However, we are not that late. If the commission is too independent to make decisions without considering others, why are they using public resources?” he said on Friday.
