An elected ODM Deputy Governor allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has dismissed Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju's remarks that DP William Ruto is not the only preferred candidate to vie for presidency in 2022.
Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi argued that Tuju is just a secretary who should be ignored.
"I'm saddened with Tuju's remarks over DP Ruto's presidential bid in 2022. I wish to confirm that DP Ruto has all it takes to vie for Presidency on the ruling party's ticket in 2022," said Maangi.
He challenged DP Ruto to ignore Tuju's remarks and focus on his work helping President Uhuru Kenyatta to serve Kenyans.
The vocal politicians reiterated that it is Kenyans who will elected a President in 2022 and not a few individuals.
"Some individuals with hidden agendas to actualize won't decide on Kenyans. DP Ruto will be elected based on his development ideas once his boss retires in 2022. Those giving pressure to DP Ruto to retire together with Uhuru in 2022 should keep off," noted Maangi.
Maangi assured that his alliance with DP Ruto doesn't mean he has boycotted his duties as Governor James Ongwae's helper.
