According to the County Commissioner Amos Mariba, elected leaders should be accorded respect they deserve.

He regretted that several youths have been misusing social media to criticize elected leaders.

"It is worrying that a number of youths have opted to use social media to attack elected leaders. I want to reiterate that any youth found misusing social media will not be spared by the law," he said.

The county security boss urged local leaders who failed to clinch political seats in 2017 to stop taking advantage of jobless youths by inciting them against elected leaders.

"Local politicians who lost elections must stop misusing jobless youths to criticize elected leaders on social media platforms," said Mariba.

The commissioner appealed to residents to maintain peace, unity and harmony.

He assured that police will be on high alert to flush out criminals from the county especially cattle rustlers who have been stealing livestock in Borabu.
