Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has claimed that Deputy President William Ruto has absolutely no say in the Jubilee government.
This comes a few weeks after the sacking of former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa who is said to be a close ally of the DP.
Echesa's sacking raised questions on why Ruto failed to save him after he openly aligned himself to the DP.
Aladwa now says it is funny that people expected the DP to do anything.
He rubbished the widespread notion that Ruto has a stake in government, arguing that only President Uhuru Kenyatta has a say in the Jubilee administration.
"Serikali ni ya Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, hakuna serikali ya Ruto. Yeye (Uhuru) ndiye aliyemteua na kumtimua Echesa, sio Ruto (The government belongs to Uhuru alone, the DP has no powers in government. Uhuru is the one who appointed and sacked Echesa and Ruto played no role in the decision)," he said.
Aladwa was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Tuesday morning.
The MP attributed Echesa's short stay in the government to his pride and unending politicking and attacks on other senior politicians, especially opposition boss Raila Odinga.
He added that just like Ruto, Raila has no role or say in Uhuru's government despite their 2018 truce that has been followed by numerous changes in government.
"Uhuru akizungumza tunamheshimu maana yeye ndiye mwenye serikali, hakuna serikali ya Raila pale (We respect what Uhuru says because he is in charge of the government. Raila has no say in Uhuru's leadership)," he added.
Raila reconciled with Uhuru on March 9, 2018, bringing to a halt the political enmity that was seen when they faced off in the 2017 presidential race.
