Samburu Governor Moses Kasaine LenolKulal has pleaded not guilty to the graft charges levelled against him.
Appearing before Milimani Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti, the governor denied charges of abuse of office, illegal acquisition of public property and conflict of interest.
The county boss alongside 13 others who were not before the court also pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiring to commit an economic crime.
Governor Lenolkulal is accused of trading with the Samburu County Government through Oryx Service Station for the supply of fuel worth Sh84, 695, 995.55.
The governor is said to have been trading with Oryx Service Station since March 2013.
He is accused of sharing the stolen public funds with his proxy Hesbon Ndathi.
The prosecution did not oppose the governor's release on bail or bond and instead called for stringent bail terms.
The prosecution also asked the court to consider the seriousness of the charges when setting the terms.
The Magistrate court released the governor on a Sh150 million bond with a similar surety or a Sh100 million cash bail.
Lenolkulal was also ordered to deposit his passport in court.
