While responding to the incident via his social media, Murkomen is now calling on Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and Inspector General (IG) Mutyambai to act and stop the killings that are now becoming a trend.

"I am saddened that the security situation in Marakwet ain't improving. This week, two innocent young men were again killed in Endo ward.

"We have had discussions with CS Matiang'i and IG Mutyambai and they have promised to scale up operations this week," states the Elgeyo Marakwet senator on Facebook.

Just last week, another man aged 26 years was shot dead by the pokot bandits at the same Endo ward. What is even worrying is the fact that the suspected bandits now target people as opposed to animals.

For decades now, the Marakwets and their neighbouring Pokot community have been fighting for grazing lands along the Kerio river, a thing that has saw hundreds of lives lost.

It is now expected that Matiang'is visit to the troubled ward will bring an end to the vice of banditry and cattle rustling.
