Kenya's immediate former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has met with renowned Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu.
Tundu Lissu has been undergoing medical treatment after surviving an assassination attempt by yet to be identified assailants.
The assassination attempt, which saw the opposition leader's body take bullets, left him unconscious.
Media reports indicated at the time that he had been shot in the stomach and the leg.
Writing on Twitter on Tuesday after the meeting, Mutunga said that the Chadema Party leader was alive and doing quite well.
He said that the last time the two met was when Lissu had been brought to the Nairobi Hospital to undergo treatment.
"Reunited with my great brother TUNDU LISSU. He is alive and well, alhamdullilah. Allahu Akbar, " the former chief justice said. 2: The last time I saw my brother TUNDU LISSU was in Nairobi hospital. I feared for his life. That great smile warms the hearts of those of us on EA who love TZ, " Willy Mutunga added.
Tundu Lissu has been an outspoken critic of President John Pombe Magufuli whom he has accused of dictatorial tendencies.
He has long contended that the attempt on his life two years ago was politically motivated.
