Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has alleged that procurement laws had been broken in more than 200 other government projects besides the Arror and Kimwarer dams.
In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, the senator noted that the only thing he was not sure of was whether individuals arrested on Monday, among them Treasury CS Henry Rotich over the two multi-billion projects in Elgeyo Marawet county were guilty or innocent.
"I do not know about the guilt or otherwise of Rotich and Co," read part of the tweet.
However, the vocal legislator argued that he was certain that more than 200 government projects had been subjected to the same process of planning and management as Arror and Kimwarer dams.
Cheruiyot further claimed that the reason why the mistakes made in the planning and management of other projects had not been prosecuted was that the investigative agencies had no vested interests in them.
The youthful senator rubbished assertions that the investigative agencies in the country were independent.
"All I know is that there are over 200 GOK projects that have followed the SAME PROCESS as Kimwarer & Arror, so long as @ODPP_KE are silent about it, he can tell the being independent tales to the birds," noted Cheruiyot.
On Monday, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji ordered for the arrest and prosecution of Treasury CS and PS Kamau Thugge together with other government officials for committing irregularities in procurement for construction of Arror and Kimwarer dams.
