Most people will tell you age is nothing but a number, an indication that many individuals do not consider their partner's age when it comes to dating.
However, did you know that age can be a factor when it comes to cheating in relationships?
Relationships work best when the couples are faithful to each other, trust each other and are open all the time.
Things get worse when one of the partners breaks the trust in the relationship and begins to cheat on their spouse.
Studies show both men and women cheat due to several reasons, including for satisfaction, to get children as well as for revenge.
A recent survey on a dating website, Ashley Madison, which involved 2, 099 people between the ages of 18 and 70 indicated that:
1. Most people cheat at the age of between 30 to 39 years
The research indicated that those who went to the website to look for sexual partners were aged 33 years for female and 36 for men. This was also the age where couples had stayed in marriages for fewer years. 32 per cent of the sample cheated at this age bracket.
2. The second group that indicated cheating fell between 19 to 29 years
28 per cent of the total sample cheated at this bracket. Their infidelity was linked to unmet expectations of their young marriage.
3. Ages 40 to 49 years
This age bracket represented 24 per cent of those who cheated. Experts noted this was due to marriage frustrations that end up cheating.
