Deputy President William Ruto will on Friday host the best schools in the National Drama and Film Festival at Kibabii University in a State Concert.
Ruto will represent President Uhuru Kenyatta in officiating the National Drama State Concert at Kibabii University.
"The Chief Guest of the Concert will be the Deputy President as President Kenyatta who was bound to host them at State lodge Kakamega is out of the Country for official government duty," Education PS Dr Belio Kipsang told the press.
In history, the head of state has been hosting the winners at State House but this year's event is one of its the DP steps in for President Uhuru Kenyatta who is on an official tour to Mauritius.
Among schools that will be hosted by the DP include Larmudiac Girls High School from Rift valley which won in the category of the best Film at the KFCB; Laiser Hills Academy from Rift Valley, Riara girls', Ng'iya girls' from Nyanza, Moi Primary School Kabarak, Zetech University and Utalii College.
Others are the University of Nairobi (UoN) West Campus and Kianjai Circuit Academy from Meru County.
