“Mudavadi was the treasury minister when the Goldenberg scandal happened in this country. This is one of the biggest ever scandals recorded in the ministry,” Duale said.

The MP was speaking in Garissa Town on Friday.

Duale's sentiments follows Mudavadi's utterances linking the controversial 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) on all petroleum products to "massive graft cases in the energy industry".

Mudavadi had also said that after taking into consideration the cost of fuel, the pipeline and storage services, a liter of petrol should retail for 72.61 shillings as opposed to what it is now across the counties.

“Time and again, we have been cautioning the government against uncontrolled over-borrowing. Chickens have now come to roost and the Jubilee government doesn't know where to finally turn or even what to do now," Mudavadi had said.
