Betty Obiri, a nominated Jubilee MCA in Kisii County on Tuesday while speaking at Bogitaa village in Bonchari Sub-County said Duale's stand was good.

"Duale is the majority leader and he did no crime convincing Jubilee and NASA MPs to pass the 8 percent VAT on fuel which was proposed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. A section of leaders who have been calling Duale names must know the country will not run its operations without taxes from Kenyans," she said.

She urged Duale to ignore critics and ensure he is representing the ruling Jubilee Party well at the National Assembly.

According to her, leaders were opposing the 8 percent VAT on petrol are enemies to development.

"The government depends on taxes to get funds to launch development projects and pay school fees for free day primary and secondary school learners. MPs who were opposing President Uhuru Kenyatta's proposals are a disgrace to Kenyans," she added.

The MCA called on President Uhuru not to stop the war on graft until all offenders are apprehended and prosecuted.
