Traders operating at Kisii main bus stop have claimed that police officers attached to Kisii Central police station are sleeping on the job.
The traders said illicit brews more particularly 'chang'aa' and bhang is being sold in public as police officers watch.
Led by Jane Monyangi argued that police officers at the station have been colluding with illicit brewers who are selling illicit drugs at the stage.
"Lives of our youths are being ruined by police officers who have allowed the selling of bhang and chang'aa publicly. Most of the youths at the stage have ventured into alcohol consumption, bhang smoking," she said.
She added that chang'aa and bhang which police officers recover from suspects is given to sellers at the bus stop so that they can sell to youths.
"Some police officers give chang'aa and bhang to rogue traders at the bus stop which is sold to youths. This is unacceptable and should be stopped with immediate effect," she noted.
Another angry trader Millicent Kerubo fired warning shots to Kisii police commander Martin Kibet who recently claimed that women traders are drug barons.
"Claims made by Kibet are meant to mislead people. He should tell people the truth," said Kerubo.
