Residents of Nyakongo village in Kiabonyoru, Nyamira County were left in shock on Saturday after a man hanged himself while naked.
Nyamira County commissioner Amos Mariba confirmed the incident.
The county security boss said the body of the Thomas Mong'are Nyamoki was recovered by his daughter who went to check on him in the house.
"Nyamoki's death has left locals in shock because he was naked hanging from the roof of his house," said the commissioner adding that he did not quarrel with anyone in his family before deciding to commit suicide.
Mariba stated that the deceased's daughter after discovering the body alerted the nieghbours who thronged their compound
"Neighbours responded quickly to an alarm raised by the deceased's daughter to witness the shocking suicide to have ever happened in the village," he added.
The commissioner said locals later informed police officers who immediately rushed to the scene.
"Police officers picked the body and took it to Nyamira county referral hospital morgue as investigations over the shocking death continues," he noted.
The county police boss appealed to those who feel troubled by life to seek help other than resorting to suicide.
