A 50-year old man reportedly went mad on Friday after his wife of 15 years used an overdose concoction famously known as ‘kamuti’ on him.
The Rongo area residents said that Juma Ochieng’ stripped naked and started running in the village claiming that his wife was baying for his blood.
“Ochieng’ has been a hardworking man since he married his wife, Jacinta Akinyi. Akinyi visited a local witch doctor where he bought a concoction and put in her husband’s food which the husband ate and turned mad,” said Jennifer Atieno.
A local administrator, Boniface Oduor confirmed the incident and said the woman has until Monday next week to ensure the man returns normal.
“Akinyi is responsible for the husband’s madness because the woman who accompanied her to the witch doctor has confessed that she put too much concoction in the husband’s food. Let her visit the same witch doctor and ensure the man returns normal before Monday, failure to which a severe action will be taken against her,” said the chief.
Oduor urged women to believe in prayers and stop engaging in witchcraft ways which may end up bringing calamities to their families.
