A Gusii based politician has claimed that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is the only true and honest servant of people.
While sending Matiang'i a congratulatory message to Matiang'i, Isaac Onchagwa who unsuccessfully vied for Kisii County senator seat during the August 8, 2017 polls, said Matiang'i's promotion didn't come through a walk in the park.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta recognized the workaholic Matiang'i because he realized that he can do better for our Nation given that he has brought many changes in other ministries," said Onchagwa.
He challenged Gusii leaders more so those thriving on division and hatred politics to embrace Matiang'i.
"Matiangi's new appointment should not send Gusii leaders into panic ahead of the 2022 polls. Let us celebrate the promotion and give Matiang'i necessary support in his new role," he added.
The vocal politician assured that Matiang'i will excel in his new role.
"He is capable and without doubt he will do well in the new role since he has proved to Kenyans. In fact he is a true and honest public servant in this country," said Onchagwa.
