Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Onyonka has called for speedy investigations after his first cousin Mario Magonga perished in a chopper crash in Turkana County at Labolo in Central Island National Park on Sunday night.

The vocal MP urged Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) and other relevant government agencies to hasten probe over the matter to establish the cause of the crash which led to the death of Magonga and four others. 

"Relevant authorities should speed up investigations so that we can know what exactly caused the accident as burial arrangement begin," he said.

Onyonka said the family lost a hard working person who lost his life in line of duty. 

Magonga has been flying Deputy President William Ruto until he met his sudden death. 

He hails from Nyamataro area in Kitutu Chache South.

The deceased also worked Tropic Air Kenya before he quit in June 2015.

Magonga was also an established KDF soldier. 

A section of leaders have mourned him terming his death as a blow to the entire nation. 

"Magonga dedicated his time to serve the nation. It is unfortunate that we have lost him," said Tabaka MCA Daniel Apepo.
