Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Momoima has helped to reduce dust in the road from Kisii to Oyugis that was under construction, but the contractor went away due to a misunderstanding between the contractor and Kisii county government.
The outspoken MP while addressing the journalists on Monday, said that he had communicated with the contractor and promised to start pouring water on the road which is now so dusty and this will go on on daily basis to protect the residents from diseases which might be caused by the dust.
“The road that was under construction from Kisii past Mosocho to Oyugis, has been through a difficult situation. But, I talked to the contractor and agreed to be pouring water in order to reduce the crowd of dust. The contractor also promised to go on with the construction starting next month,” Onyonka said.
"The contractor also revealed that the problem arose from the county workers and those working in the construction site. There were wrangles after the county workers demanded them to pay tax for the water they were using in the construction. The county government also was concerned about the indication of the diversions as required by the law. This bright conflicts which made the contractor to down his tools,” he added.
