The first-time governor who was elected through Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Democratic Movement, has challenged MCAs drafting the impeachment motion against him to go ahead and table it to the County Assembly.

According to the governor, MCAs who are spearheading the motion do not understand the procedure of impeaching a governor.

"Those MCAs behind the Motion do not understand the procedure of impeaching a governor. They should know that they have to write to the Senate detailing their reasons for impeachment to get a go-ahead to do so," Samboja, the NASA governor said.

Led by Mganga-Mwanda ward MCA, Anselim Chao Mwadime and his Wumingu-Kishushe counterpart Newton Salim, the ward representatives have accused Samboja of failing to incorporate the County Assembly in matters of county administration and that he has a poor relationship with most of the MCAs thus affecting service delivery.

The MCAs also claim Samboja has not delivered any laudable development since he took over from John Mruttu last year and has also been disregarding County Assembly summons.

Addressing the press, Taita Taveta County Majority Leader Jason Tuja, however dismissed the claims, saying the MCAs should allow the governor do his job.

According to him, his colleagues have no tangible ground to impeach the county boss.
