Police have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed his colleague at a construction site in Mwala, Machakos County.
Simon Mutunga is said to have killed Boniface Mativo in Masii last week.
Masii OCS Geoffrey Muchai said the suspect was on Wednesday arrested in Mlolongo area, few kilometers from Nairobi where he had sought refuge after committing the crime to evade arrest.
"Investigations have been done and we have arrested the suspect at Mlolongo area. He has been detained at Masii police post." Muchai said.
He addressed the press in his office on Wednesday.
Muchai said the suspect will be arraigned in Machakos courts to be charged with murder once the investigations are complete.
He warned those who flee after committing crime stating that they can't hide from security agencies.
Muchai said such culprits should surrender themselves to the police once they commit the crime.
"Even if you hide where you will eventually be caught," Muchai added.
The incident happened last week at a construction site where the two were working before they disagreed making the suspect stab the deceased to death.
Muchai had promised that he would work tirelessly to ensure that the suspect is arrested for the law to take its course.
He condemned the act.
"Why to commit a crime that you could have avoided if you controlled your anger, it's unfortunate that a lot of people tend to resolve to violence," Muchai said.
