Dhanji Parmar, a man who made coats for Kenyans founding President Jomo Kenyatta is dead, reports the Standard.
His daughter, Simran Parmar revealed news about the death of 86-year-old former tailor cum philanthropist of Monday.
“He was full of life yesterday (Sunday). We had dinner together and he was fine. This morning (Monday), he woke up early as usual but died a few minutes later. It is very painful for the family,” she said.
According to the family, the octogenarian collapsed at his Nakuru home before pronounced dead minutes later.
“He woke up at around 7am and collapsed while having a shower. Doctors told us that he suffered a heart attack,” said Prenji Rakesh, his nephew.
With Kenyatta being his client, the old man's business in Nakuru become household name in the region.
Some of the top government officials who also enjoyed his services include former powerful minister Mbiyu Koinange and Rift Valley PC Isaiah Mathenge.
He is credited for historical leather jacket Mzee Kenyatta always wore while traversing the country.
