The opposition leader Raila Odinga has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta will return to Nyanza later in the year.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Ugenya Saturday, the former Premier said that the President will tour Nyanza and specifically Siaya county in August.
He added that the Head of State has a lot of goodies in store for the county, including the construction of the Butere-Musanda-Sigomere-Ukwala Road.
He added that Uhuru will use the tour to among others, officially open the road when the time comes.
"There are good things in the offing. I have talked to President Uhuru Kenyatta and he has promised to build the Butere-Musanda-Sigomere-Ukwala road," he was quoted by the Nation.
The revelation comes only 2 months after Uhuru made a maiden tour of Luo Nyanza, slightly a year after his truce with Raila, his main political rival in the 2017 presidential election.
However, the two-day visit in December only saw him visit Kisumu and Siaya counties, with the promise that he would visit the remaining Homa Bay and Migori in the company of Raila.
Uhuru also promised to consider the region in his development agenda going forward.
Uhuru is yet to confirm Raila's claims.
