Kisii county residents whose land title deeds remained in Nyamira after the land conflicts in the recent past will now be transferred to Kisii county, a process which will see about 2,000 title deeds are successfully transferred from Nyamira offices to Kisii.
The people who are affected mainly come from Sensi and Monyerero wards in Kitutu Chache Constituency who get it difficult to do transactions pertaining their lands as they have to go all the way to Nyamira to get the services.
Sensi Ward MCA Paul Angwenyi, who doubles as the chairman of the delegated county legislation committee, said there is no need for residents to go all the way to Nyamira when they need to use their farms.
Angwenyi also said that he had written a letter to the commissioner of lands over the same and plans are underway to transfer the title deeds to Kisii County.
"People from Botabori in Sensi ward came to me complaining that they are tired of going to Nyamira to follow up matters pertaining to their land. If someone wants to sell or use his/her land s/he must go to Nyamira, something that is not necessary. We launched a complaint to the land commissioner and all shall be taken good care of," Angwenyi said.
