Duale says that were it not for Annan Kenya would not be in existence today.

Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Saturday, the Jubilee MP said that Annan's death is a big blow to Africa and push for democracy and peace.

Duale said that Annan was committed to seeing peace in Africa and the world.

He said that Kenyans have a debt to pay to the fallen former UN Secretary-General.

"The price and gift we can give to the fallen African hero as Kenyans is to keep peace and unity," he said on Saturday.

Duale said that Annan was keen on seeing a peaceful and united Kenya.

He said that the former UN boss came to Kenya when everybody else was shying away.

The Garissa  MP  asked Kenyans to pray for the Annan family as they mourn him.

He also asked Kenyan leaders to embrace the leadership qualities exhibited by the former UN Secretary General.

Annan died on Saturday morning after a short illness.

Leaders across the world continue to send their tributes to the former UN  boss.

Annan played a key role in ending the 2007/2008 post-poll chaos that rocked the country.

He mediated the signing of a peace deal (National Accord)  between former President Mwai Kibaki and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga that saw the formation of the coalition government in 2008.
