As the entire country continue to mourn and pay tribute for the Veteran Politician Kenneth Matiba, here is a brief look at his high school life at Alliance Boys as narrated by his friend and bed-mate Dr. Joseph Oluoch during the requiem at All Saints Cathedral:
Kenneth Matiba was in charge of the boxing at the Alliance and he was the boss at the game. When his friend Dr. Oluoch joined the game, Matiba gave him a knock out making him quit and join football.
On Sunday morning, the multi-democracy fighter used to polish his shoes for the longest time since their neighboring school, the Alliance girls, used to come for church services at the boys’ school.
And off course as young boys, they did everything that boys do and some that their grandchildren cannot believe their grandfather did.
He was always serving the people, Matiba and his friend used to guide the school at night with a big spear almost their weight and they could hardly through it 10 feet away during the State of Emergency before independence.
Academically he was smart and his hard work made him join the Makerere University together with his friend Dr. Oluoch.
