Friday night is always a rushing up and down moment for Kenyans to go out. The beautiful ladies dig into their closet for the warmest clothes to get them throughout the cold night, searching for the shortest most revealing dress to grace the clubs red carpets with six-inch heels coming in handy after a good touch of makeup. They are all determined to get the attention which they often confuse for affection.
It is peculiar to discover that while others are dressed to kill the attention of the mafisi's, others are dressed in a pair of blue jeans, boots, sweater top and a heavy trench coat. They are heading to church for Kesha, yes for Kesha. After all, it’s Friday night, everybody is heading somewhere. In these Kesha young people fill the house of God ready to have an encounter with the Almighty and praise team always already on the pulpit leading the congregation in worship. Good looking young men and fine young women honestly seeking the face of God.
While many of us believe we live in a perverse generation where everybody is living to satisfy their lustful and greedy desires, there are people who have decided to stay on the straight and narrow path. While some on a Friday night is looking for sexual healing, many are searching for spiritual healing. When peoples moral seem to go low, some have set theirs even higher. These are the people who will write the history for this generation.
This is something very skeptical in our society today where we trade the club for the church, wine for water, fate for faith and men for God.
