Four legislators allied to Jubilee Party want the National Cohesion and Integration Commission to investigate the Kenya Medical Practitioner's and Dentists Union Secretary General Ouma Oluga for ‘hate speech’ over an alleged fake Facebook post.
One of the 2014 posts read, “To the Kikuyu country, One day it won't be all yours ... It may take one year, 20 years or 100 years to come but one day you'll be in the side of those not in power.”
The four MPs who included Kimani Ichung'wa representing Kikuyu, Cornelly Serem representing Aldai, John Kiragu representing Limuru and Tharaka Nithi Women Representative Nkatha Beatrice claimed that Oluga has been perpetuating tribal hatred since 2014.
“We would like to call on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission through its chairperson honorable Francis Ole Kaparo, to immediately institute the measures to investigate Dr. Ouma Oluga, so as to protect the Nation of Kenya from this reckless perpetuation of hate speech,” Ichung'wa said.
“The hate comments propagated should be treated carefully," Kiragu stated.
The Jubilee lawmakers spoke at a press briefing last Friday.
However, according to experts, the posts could have been invented through an App that has the capability to generate images purporting to be an update.
The KMPDU boss has not yet commented on the matter after it came up.
