With its booming businesses and gradual developments, Nairobi would soon host the tallest private residential building in Sub-Saharan Africa.
According to an international real estate firm Lordship Africa, the project, 88 Nairobi Condominium, will cost a whooping Sh 50 billion and it will sit on a two-acre piece of land in upper hill area along Fourth Ngong Avenue, Nairobi.
The building will soar 47 floors high with a 12,000 square feet of rental space and an addition of 16,000 square feet of lush garden space.
Jonathan Jackson, founder of Lordship Africa and Lordship Europe said that the 88 Nairobi project was motivated by the need to house executives working in the Upper Hill area.
“Upper Hill currently doesn’t have executive residential apartments despite the near 40,000 VIPs who work in this area. The building will enable them to drive short distances to work, or even walk,” said Jackson on Tuesday during the opening of the project's show house.
The landmark development will be built in accordance with World Bank and European Union safety requirements with security provided around building meeting the United Nation standards. A snap view of the building reveals that it will be hoisting residential units from 8th floor to 40th floor and penthouse to the 44th floor.
The units will also be sub-divided into three categories i.e, executive, executive plus, and penthouses.
If you will wish to rent it, then you will be required to pay Sh 370,000 per month for two bedroom apartment. Owning the same space will cost you Sh 22.9 million.
With the design still going on, construction will set to start in April this year and end mid-2020.Below are photos of the building :
