Earlier this year (February 2016), Kenyan gospel artist Mercy Masika thrilled faithfuls in Athi River at a concert dubbed "Bega Kwa Bega" held at First baptist church.
It was a wonderful performance and I want to hail Mercy Masika for setting a good example to other upcoming gospel artists.
While the likes of Mercy Masika, Eunice Njeri, Gloria Muliro, Solomom Mkubwa and Daddy Owen are trying to set a good example, few artists masquerading as gospel artists are up to let the industry down or tarnish its good name.
As a gospel artist, you should read the Bible and live by the word. There is no short cut to it. Daddy Owen did a wedding and the rest of the gospel artists should follow the good example he and DJ Mo and Size 8 have set.
We are disappointed to read stories of gospel artists like Willy Paul eloping with a girl.
We are tired of constant beef in the gospel industry. We are tired of hearing and watching music where artists pose with expensive cars and jewellery and only mention the word "God" to stay relevant.
