A woman on Monday startled villagers at Chebarus trading center on the outskirts of Eldoret town after she was seen in the midst of the center, in a broad daylight dancing naked.
The woman popularly known as Cherop by locals is said to have started by walking some miles from her house which was nearby the market as she dropped her clothes one by one.
Eyewitnesses say they had no idea why the woman decided to dance naked in the middle of the market.
Men around the market were left wordless while others were heard saying, "wamama shika huyo mama mfunike leso" loosely translated as "women cover up that lady," while others could say "unatuonyesha nini wewe mwanamke kwani sisi hatujawai ona vitu unatuonyesha?" translated to "what is she trying to show us, does she think we have never seen what she has?"
Despite a crowd building up at the market, the woman seemed not bothered as she continued with her dance.
After some time, a group of women finally covered up the lady with one of them heard saying, "take her to the hospital, she is mad."
The woman was later arrested and the area chief was called to interrogate her. She was later taken to the Chief's office.
