Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba has accused Opposition leader Raila Odinga of allegedly politicising development projects commissioned by the Jubilee adminstration.
Speaking on Tuesday, the lawmaker cited the collapsed Sigiri Bridge, saying it was unfortunate that Mr Odinga had opted to politic with the incident even when it was clear that lives were at stake.
"I am told Raila was here yesterday and that he said this bridge belongs to him. He claimed this bridge was his brain child and that he is the one who drew the plan. Let him come and carry it to where he goes," Ababu said.
On his part, Mr Odinga had accused the Jubilee adminstration of commissioning sub-standard projects, adding that Kenyans are no longer getting value for their money.
“If the government has no project to show off in the Western region for the five years they have been in office, they should stop playing politics with the lives of our people by inspecting shoddy projects," the former Prime Minister said during a political rally in Siaya.
The 25m bridge that crosses through River Nzoia collapsed on Monday, leaving more than 25 workers injured.
