Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Ababu Namwamba has called on investors to pump money into the Kenyan market saying the Jubilee administration has instituted an elaborate plan that booSts business.
The former Budalang'i MP who spoke in Eldoret on Tuesday during an exhibition organized by the Ugandan Embassy in Kenya said Kenya is a friendly country to people with interests and the peace the country currently enjoys is prove the country is ripe for investment.
"There is a strong commitment by the leaders in the East African Community (EAC) to ensure relations are better and that we do more trade with each other," Ababu said.
"It is an Illustration of a new beginning for Kenya - Uganda relations. What is happening here in Eldoret is historic in its own way. We are inviting African investors to come invest in Kenya," he added.
Namwamba said the best way through which EAC member states can develop is by initiating ways of doing business as a regional bloc.
Uganda is presently one of Kenya's closest trading partner. There are thousands of Ugandans doing business in Kenya and many Kenyans are equally in Uganda trading.
President Uhuru Kenyatta two weeks ago officially launched the 'One-Stop-Border-Post in Busia, a development that is expected to ease cross-border trade in East Africa.
