Orange Democratic secretary general, Ababu Namwamba, has urged the Commission for University Education (CUE)  to stop shifting their problems to universities and instead monitor and rectify them wherever they are doing wrong.

Speaking in Kisii University on Monday during a lecture with university students, Nmwamba said that CUE made a mistake by announcing the closure of 10 campuses of the university something he said will destroy the reputation of the university.

''The announcement of the closure of the 10 campuses will destroy your reputation and measures need to be put in place to build confidence among Kenyans about the university,'' he said.

The secretary general said that he is going to engage with the commission and the Ministry of Education to make sure that the wrangles about the university comes to an end. Namwamba added that the work of the commission is to monitor and to inform the university to change what they have discovered to be wrong and not to close the university.

''I am going to meet with the commission and the CS of Education, Fred Matiangi, to discuss the future of this university since we want its reputation to be good so that you cannot be questioned outside there when you are looking for job,'' added Namwamba.

To the university management, he challenged it to make sure that whenever things are wrong to rectify in early stages for the better.
