Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba has criticised the opposition for always dismissing Jubilee administration’s projects.
The former ODM secretary general accused opposition leaders of politicising everything that Jubilee government does to gain mileage.
"There are those people who always fight every project the Government initiates. When the Government came to recruit youths, some said it was a ploy to rig votes," said the Labour Party of Kenya leader.
He was speaking in his constituency where he launched a youth empowerment project.
Ababu said he decided to back President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid for the sake of development.
He praised the Sh1 billion Sirigi Bridge project that Jubilee administration has constructed in Budalangi constituency.
"Some people came here to dance on the graves of those who had died for lack of bridge but since the President came, we can now confirm Sigiri Bridge has been constructed," he added. He called on leaders to avoid rhetoric politics with little or no development.
"Politics of rhetoric is long gone because people want to see development and that is why Budalang'i is growing so fast," he said.
Ababu fell out with ODM last year, citing lack of democracy in the party led by Raila Odinga.
Opposition leaders led Raila have been dismissing the Jubilee administration projects, saying they were clouded with corruption scandals.
They have, specifically, dismissed Jubilee’s statements that over 6,000 kilometres of roads have been tarmacked in the country since 2013.
