The embattled legislator says he will defend his legislative seat in another political party and vowing that he will win by landslide even without Mr Odinga’s backing.

Namwamba jolted the ODM party following his recent resignation from the party's administrative position, saying he is now committed to lead what he has termed as “Mulembe Consciousness” campaign that is aimed at consolidating the Luhya votes ahead of the next elections.

“There is this narrative being peddled around that it was Raila Odinga who helped me grasp the Budalang’i seat twice. This is a narrative I wish to put a stop to by vying for this seat again in a different party and I will trounce his ODM candidate by far,” he said.

Namwamba further took a dig at the recent tour by Odinga in the expansive Busia County, saying that he ferried leaders from his strongholds who have no understanding of local luhya politics.

“You hover around in Busia, moving around with rejected squad and parading some rejects from as far as Nairobi and expecting massively to change the mood on the grassroots. That will never happen again,” Namwamba said.

He predicted the downfall of the ODM party unless its elections board is newly reconstituted.
